Dear Großvati,

Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, "Did you bring joy?" The second was, "Did you find joy?"

Großvati, I will forever remember your smile, the happy sound of your laughter and your endless jokes. You were a kind soul with a zest for life. You brought joy and laughter to all whose lives you touched. I can't remember a single time that I ever saw you sad or unhappy. When I close my eyes and sift through the pastel memories of my water-coloured past, I only see you smiling. I can see the deep laugh lines dancing around your light gray blues eyes that are sparkling as you laugh. And that is how I will always remember you. That is the image of you that will be engraved on my heart for all eternity. And there you will live, laugh and smile forever.

May you find eternal joy in the afterlife, just as you did here on earth.

Loving you always,

Larissa

Where are you?

Mom and I found you one cold night in 1994... So long ago.
You are my best friend and we have had many great times together. We have made so many memories. You are my black panther.
You are old now, half blind and not as strong and independent as you once were, as a feisty little kitten and a mature adult.
Today mom sent me a message to say you are missing...

I hope you are just playing hide and go seek in a tree....
Please come back.
I want to see you when I get back home...

Craziest Homework Yet

The craziest homework yet, thanks to Minhee. I don't even know where the hell to begin!!!

I asked her class to research and write about Simon and Garfunkel.

This is what she wrote:

"New juja word born poll simon all duat information activity 64.

A formula a debut. and announcement song milleon srilu.

a record the world duoo reigning be done song 1870 announcement.

gerame 6 apart carry pop on old book be counted a number be done."

WTF???? I just sat there stunned with her notebook in my hands for at least 5 minutes trying to decipher this mess and trying to figure out what to do. Then, all I could do was laugh. Bless her cute cotton socks that were probably made in China. She always does her homework. Although some days I wish she didn't...
